CTMH Technique Blog Hop - Simple Shadows

Welcome to our monthly Technique Hop! This month we are featuring Simple Shadows which can be found on page 102 of our 2015 Annual Inspirations Book. It's quite simple but adds a real bang to your artwork!

If you've arrived from Melissa David's blog you're on the right track. Just click the links at the end of the post to continue to the next stop on the hop.

For this hop I created a layout with some photos from last summer's family reunion. My daughter, son-in-law and grandkids traveled from out East to the Mid-West and we had a blast all weekend long!

Here I combined some B & T paper from two different My Reflections paper packs. The brown triangle pattern is from Jackson and the other two are from Seaside. Our Close To My Heart Cricut Artbooking cartridge was used to create the trees and words. The trees were dry embossed using the Diamond Embossing folder to give them some texture. For the overall pattern I used our How-To Book called Reflections. It's on page 35, Bottom Border-Tittle. TIP: When putting the trees and words together I find it works best to dot Liquid Glass on the pieces as the adhesive to glue them together and to adhere to the project. Both the trees and words are "shadowed" and you can see how that little bit of shadow really makes them stand out and pop!
