Technique Blog Hop ~ Thin Cuts by CTMH

Today it's time for some technique ideas with our new Thin Cuts! I love Thin Cuts and how easy they are to use. You're going to love this hop!

If you're coming from Wendy Kessler's blog you're on the right track. Just click on the links to continue along on the hop!

I hadn't used the Stuck on You stamp set with the Thin Cuts for a while so that was my choice for this hop. In my mind cactus equal desert but I wanted to add more color so I went with a desert sunset look. First I sponged some Canary ink for the setting sun. Next came a touch of Sunset ink, then Hollyhock and finally Thistle. Once I had all the colors down I continued to soften the look by rubbing a dry sponge over the entire area. I created the ground by tearing the edge off some cardstock and making layers.

Now for the Thin Cuts: I like to stamp the image first then cut. In order to keep the Thin Cut die positioned on the image I use a piece of Washi Tape to lightly hold it in place. I use a Cuttlebug and have found the "sandwich" that works best for me is the white plate, Plate A and then on top of the die layer is Plate C. OH..... I forgot to mention that before stamping the cactus images I lightly sanded the cardstock pieces so it would look more rustic. I added some sparkles and Shimmer Trim as a finishing touch.

All products are Close To My Heart:
--Ink: Canary, Hollyhock, Sunset, Thistle, New England Ivy, Ruby, Chocolate
--Cardstock: White Daisy, Cocoa, Desert Sand, Chocolate, Fern, Pomegranate

Let me know if I can be of any help.

Now it's time to hop over to Tammy Lubbock's blog for more inspiration!
