Color Dare #238 ~ Willow, Peacock and White

Welcome to the new Color My Heart color challenge. Each Friday we challenge you with a new set of colors to create with. This week the colors are Willow, Peacock and White. Please use only and all these colors and do not add any new ones...BUT...if you don't have one of these exact colors you may substitute something close.

I wasn't sure what I wanted to create with this color dare. After thinking about it for a while I decided  on a layout for an upcoming birthday for our grandson. As I was creating I was getting more and more excited with how it was turning out! Now I can't wait to add photos!

This layout was actually pretty easy to create. I used the Cricut to do the Happy Birthday and number 4 as well as the party hats. It's hard to see but there is a pattern on the green middle border paper which adds some more texture. I stamp rolled the balloons. This means I inked the stamp then stamped on scrap paper then rolled the stamp on the ink pad and stamped on cardstock. This helps give the balloons some dimension and look more round. Notice how I tied the balloons around the number 4? I separated the white twine strands and glued it to the balloons. Then I gathered the twine and tucked it around the four which is slightly popped up with foam tape. I put a glue dot on the back of the four and that keeps the twine in place. I also added a tiny touch of Clear Shimmer Brush on the highlight of the balloon.  To make the party hat borders I used the same image as the larger party hat but welded the images together to create the border. I also did a shadow technique on the sentiment. I cut Happy Birthday in both colors at the same size then offset them and glued together. Love how all the colors tie together in this layout!
