Family Heritage Layout ~ Color Dare #377 Tic Tac Toe

It's our first Tic Tac Toe Challenge of 20209 and these colors are fantastic! Pick your colors by column, row or diagonal. Then if you want you can add some of the other colors in the grid or even use them all! However, the rule is that you DO NOT add any extra colors although Black and White are free to use. If you enter more than one challenge please make sure your colors fit out challenge so you won't be disqualified.

We reference Close To My Heart colors but you're free to use any brand you have as long as you can make a VERY CLOSE color match. Make any paper craft you like and link to our home page.

For my project I decided to make a layout of my great grandparents. They immigrated from Ireland and settled in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I wish I could have met them but I've enjoyed hearing the stories over the years.

I used our fantastic new paper pack called Spruced Up. I love the colors and patterns. Have you noticed our papers have some patterns that are theme specific but others that can be used for any occasion? It's true! You can also get a paper pack with or without a coordinating sticker sheet of images! There are also options for workshops, PML Cards, Accessories, etc. Be sure to check it all out!

My colors were selected from the upper left to bottom right diagonal: Fern, Gold, Sangria and added the colors of Espresso, French Vanilla and Julep. I love the richness of these colors! I decided to go with a simple design by accenting the corners in order to have a 5" x 7" photo be highlighted in the middle of the page. I used French Vanilla as my base. It's a softer version of white and goes so well with the other colors. The green strips are actually Zip Strips that are on the top of each paper in the pack. I inked up the branches in Julep then rolled the edges in Fern ink for a two tone effect. The birds were stamped in Espresso and colored with a watercolor pencil. Next I used a water brush to blend the pencil color. All the images have a coordinating Thin Cut die so no fussy cutting here! I also added some gold splatters with a shimmer brush and a few gems.
