Sunny Yellow Flowers! ~ Color Dare #399

Welcome to a sunny challenge from the Design Team at Color My Heart Color Dare! This challenge is all about the color yellow! So whether today is sunny where you live or cloudy this challenge will make you feel the sunshine!

The challenge is to use shades of yellow. That's it! No other colors are allowed. We are giving you some free colors to work with and they are: Black, White, Neutrals (grey and browns).  DO NOT add any other colors. For example, I left the leaves of my flowers blank because I couldn't use green with this challenge. But do you even miss it? Make any paper craft you like and link to our home page to enter the challenge.

For my project I decided to use two of my all time favorite stamp sets! I've made two cards showing different ways to use these two sets. The second card also used our Stitched Rectangle Thin Cut dies but all the other supplies are the same on both cards!

This first card was stamped in black and colored with a TriBlend Marker. These markers are incredible because you get 3 shades of a color in one marker. There is a light, medium and dark color and I used all three on the flowers. I also inked the edges of the layers with the black ink by rubbing it against the ink pad. The flower centers were done with Stickles.

I used an image from Strokes of an Artist to color over the sentiment.

Color Dare #399 is open through Thursday July 2nd

My second card shows a quick and easy way to color the flowers. Stamped in black and then over the flowers I stamped an image from Strokes of an Artist for the color. VERY EASY! The black frames come from our Thin Cut dies and make a nice way to draw your eye to the flowers.

Can you tell which images I used to color the flowers?

If you'd like to BE a consultant I'd love to have you on my team!

Now it's your turn to create and share! What shades of yellow will call out to you? We can't wait to see what you make! Link to our home page to join the challenge.

  1. I love this! Leaving images uncoloured hasn’t been a favourite technique of mine but these cards are gorgeous! You have just changed my mind :)

  2. like the sentiment says...it's the little things...the offset frame...the black ink on the edges...the sweet simplicity. Great card!
