Split Negative Card

When I saw the March Stamp of the Month I knew the Split Negative technique would work very well with it! I must say..... I was right! All those beautiful details lend itself to a wide variety of methods and this is one to try for sure!

I started by embossing the butterfly in gold then silver on black CS. I didn't emboss the entire image just enough to give me over half of it. Once heat set I cut the image down the center of the body.

I glued the halves together on a scrap paper base. The next layer is gold and silver foil and finally a piece of black CS. The alternating of gold and silver creates a really fun effect, doesn't it!

My card is a 5" x 7" so as to allow the layers image to have enough room. I used our gold and silver foil papers to continue with the pattern. Gold and Silver Sequins finish off the design along with a simple sentiment.
