November Stamp of the Month Blog Hop ~ Family Time

Welcome to our November Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! Each month on the 1st a group of talented consultants with Close To My Heart share their ideas featuring the Stamp of the Month! This month we have "Family Time" as our feature stamp set.

The blog before mine is Katy Taylor. Click the link at the end of each post to go to the next blog in the hop. It's that easy!

As first I wasn't sure what I wanted to make to show off the Family Time stamp set. It's mostly words which is great for scrapbooking but more of a challenge for card making and I felt in the mood to make a card. Then I had a light bulb moment! Our stamp set called Build-a-Plaid was the perfect way to create a background that would highlight a sentiment from Family Time! Now I'm all fired up and ready to get busy and this is what I made.

The black and red make a nice contrast for the plaid. I put the stamps for the plaid on my 2" x 6 1/2" My Acrylix block. The ones I wanted to stamp in red I removed thereby leaving a space for stamping later in red. I started the lines for black along the bottom edge and moved up the card. Then I turned it went across the front. Next I switched to the image I wanted to be red stamping in the space I left between the black images. It really was very easy and fun to do! The flower was stamped and fussy cut. I cut some ribbon to act as leaves and finished it off with some black dots.

Look at all these great images to make plaids! I had so much fun with this one and can't wait to make more! Hey, you don't even need to make plaids. You can just make stripes, too!

    1. Put the image along the line on the block. Then line up the edge of the block to your cardstock edge when you start to stamp.
