Welcome to a new challenge from our Design Team at Color Dare. Each Friday we give you a new color challenge that's open for 2 weeks. Make any paper craft you like. Do not add extra colors to the palette.
For this challenge you must use at least 3 of the colors shown in the graphic below. See the graphic for the fine print rules. When you're ready to join our challenge click here.
I decided to do the Black Out technique with my colors. For this you need an embossing folder, markers and a black ink pad. Here are the steps to create a stunning look with this technique.
- Emboss white cardstock with your design.
- Use markers to color the "deep" spots on the design.
- When you're finished coloring use the black ink pad to rub over the "high" spots of the design. Keep going until all the high spots are covered with black ink. Some ink may touch some of the colored spots but that's ok.
- Use this piece to complete your card.
It's really an easy technique, just a bit messy when you get to the part of rubbing the ink pad on the cardstock. I always get some ink on my fingers.

A few more products that I used:
- Sweetly Scripted (sentiment)
- Cardstock: Basic White, Early Espresso
- Ink: Tuxedo Black
- Stampin' Blends: Light Boho Blue, Light Cajun Craze
- Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems
- Stampin' Dimenionals
Give this technique a try and see how fun it is! You get such amazing results. The black really shows off the colors in the grooves of the design.
I also hope you try our Color Dare Challenge. We get you started with the colors...the rest is up to you! We can't wait to see wha you create with our colors.
