Kintsugi Card ~ Team Challenge

Still working on the Team Challenge Bingo. This card is using a new embossing folder.

I chose to use the embossing folder from the Kintsugi Inspirations Suite. This beautiful suite has potential for amazing variety and versatility.

Do you know what Kintsugi means? It's a traditional Japanese technique of repairing broken pottery with gold lacquer. The mended gold veins become a celebration of imperfection instead of hiding it. What a wonderful way to view life!

The design was embossed on dark cardstock then ink applied with a blending brush to make the pattern stand out a bit more. I added pieces of gold foil CS for the Kintsugi look. Y9u can also see a couple of flower clusters and gold gems. I love this look!

In this close-up you can see how the raised design picked up the ink. This highlights the different designs from the embossing folder. When using the blending brush I tapped it on the stamp pad then on some scrap paper. Start applying the ink off the cardstock and gently move in circles onto the cardstock. This helps prevent splotches of ink on your project.
