Peaceful View ~ Color Dare #655

This card was made because I wanted to tryout the new Peaceful View stamp. It's one beautiful, large stamp that I know I'll be having fun with in many ways!

Today I paired it with a piece of DSP from the Thoughtful Journey pack. It makes a pretty sunset look, don't you think? It's as if you're looking out over a valley in the middle of a lovely sunset. I love sunsets. I love sunrises, too, but they take place at a time of day that is just inconvenient for someone that is not a morning person. 😁

Because this is such a large stamp I turned it over and applied the ink to the stamp. Give it a good inking to make sure all of the image is well inked. The DSP is 6" x 6" and I didn't trim it down first. I positioned the stamp in the area I wanted and stamped. Now is when I trimmed down the DSP to the size I wanted (3-3/4" x 5").

The pink mat is cut to 3-7/8" x 5-1/8". The card base is the dark blue and has a left edge fold. When it came to the sentiment I wanted to keep it on the smaller size. I tried using a separate layer for the sentiment but found it took up too much space and didn't go well with the design. So I ended up stamping it directly on the DSP. I added a few gems to help draw the eye to the sentiment.

After while I realized this card also fit the Color Dare #655 rules for our Color Dare Challenge you must use colors shown in the graphic. See the graphic for the fine print rules. Use as many or as few of the colors in the graphic as you like. Make any paper craft you like. When you're ready to join our challenge use the direct link under the graphic.
