What's Up Wednesday ~ Pumpkin Tip!

Welcome to What's Up Wednesday! Each Wednesday I'll share tips, techniques and projects to help inspire you in your crafting. Today I have a fun tip that will give a new look to your pumpkin stamping!

The Beautiful Pumpkin Bundle is a favorite right now as we go into Fall. the richness of the colors really speak to me at this time of year and I love playing with them. Creating these pumpkins can be done in a variety of ways, but the best I've seen so far is to use Sponge Daubers to ink your stamp.

Inking in the usual way doesn't show off all the beautiful details of the image. When you lightly tap on the ink with the sponge dauber and work in layers of colors....Wow what a difference it can make!

The steps below show the small pumpkin image. The large pumpkin on the card front was done in the same way.

In the photo below I inked the solid pumpkin image in the lower right the by tapping on the Timid Tiger ink pad. It's a nice looking pumpkin but it can be so much more!

In the lower left I used sponge dauber and Timid Tiger to ink the image first. Before stamping I then applied a little Crushed Curry ink with a sponge dauber to the top of the pumpkin. Already you can see more detail.

Now let's use the detail pumpkin image to add a bit more to our pumpkin. Using Cajun Craze I stamped the top left image showing you how little ink is on the sponge dauber. Now the pumpkin in the lower left has that third layer of ink added and it looks amazing!

That's for dropping in! I hope you have fun trying this technique on your solid image stamps.
