Life in Bloom Card ~ Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 687

It's Team A's turn at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and this is a fun one! Every Monday we post a new sketch to help you get started on a project.  You can turn, rotate, change shapes, etc. We just need to be able to see the sketch in your project.

Our sketch goes live on Monday and our blog opens for entries on Wednesday. The challenge lasts one week. Have fun!

I worked with the sketch as is. I seem to be doing that a lot lately. Anyway, this is what I designed.

I started by picking out the pattern paper I wanted to use. I'm not usually drawn to warm tones like in the square on the right, but today it spoke to me. Picking my colors from the paper I chose Cloud Cover, Petal Pink and Darling Duckling.

Next choice was the stamp set to use. I hadn't used Life in Bloom yet and I liked the idea of the vase of flowers for the left square. The image was too big for the design so I simply cut off the bottom.

The flowers and leaves were colored with Stampin' Blend markers. It pulls in the colors in the right square over to the left side and creates a nice balance.

For the inside I kept it simple. Another piece of the pattern paper brings the look of the front to the inside. I first stamped my message on the pattern paper but messed it up. So, the fix was to stamp on white CS and cover up the mess. Now it looks like I framed the sentiment on the pattern paper. Unless I told you about the failed attempt you'd never know! There is almost always a way to fix a mistake!
