Here is what I made for this challenge. My two colors of choice are red and yellow to go along with shades of green.
The die cut star is from our Shining Stars Dies, the October Product of the Month. Our Product of the Month Program works like this: each month and exclusive product is available for only $5 when you make a qualifying purchase of $75. Stock up on consumables like paper, adhesives, inks, etc. At this Time of year you can do some Christmas shopping for the crafty friends in your life.....or yourself! Be sure to get the Shining Stars Dies! They are so versatile and you'll use them on all kinds of projects! when else can you get a set of 23 dies for only $5?
The star is popped up Dimensionals for a bit of depth in the design. Santa's Hat is a two step image. First I stamped the outline in black ink. Next I used Real Red ink to stamp the inside of the image. It lines up so easy and look at the way you automatically get the impression of folds in the hat! The hat is fussy cut and Wink of Stella was added to the fur parts for some sparkle.
This buttons seemed like a perfect accent and the ribbon around the star was a lightbulb moment. Don't you love those moments? I sure do.
