August 2012 Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Our August Stamp of the Month is called Baroque Borders and it kicks off the release of our newest Idea Book! Here's a look at some ideas I used to create a couple cards.

This card features paper from the new Dakota paper pack. I LOVE this wood grain pattern! The Baroque Border is stamped in our new color: SLATE! This is such a beautiful and soft tone of gray! See those paper flowers? Yep, we have new Just Blooms Floret Paper Shapes that come in Autumn Terracotta, Cranberry, Sorbet and Olive!
I popped the flower with 3-D Foam, distressed with Slate ink a bit and added some Pearls to accent the look! The leaves were cut from our NEW ARTISTE Cricut Collection! Yes...another cartridge with 700 images!

This card was very quick and easy so be sure to give it a try!






Here's another card with a pattern from our NEW How-to Book: Make It from Your Heart: Vol. 1. It's only $7.95 and has patterns for BOTH layouts and cards! The paper is from the new La Belle Vie paper pack. The photo doesn't do the colors justice. The ribbon is our Color Ready ribbon and is actually a deep burgundy tone when I used the new Ruby ink pad. It really does go well with the darker pink tones of the paper.....honest! Along the left of the message layer I pleated some strips for a tone on tone type of look. It's subtle but adds a nice detail. AND I totally lifted the idea from a card displayed in our Idea Book! You know the Idea Book is a great source for ideas to duplicate as a whole or in part. Add a message and a few pieces sparkles and you're finished!
