I just love this stamp set with the cute hedgehogs. This time I kept the look simple by stamping in black on brown cardstock. I stamped and colored the flower on white cardstock then fussy cut it out and glued it on top of the brown image.

Fun Hedgehog Card ~ Color Dare #595

We reference Close To My Heart colors but you can use any brand you have as long as you can make a very close match. Kind of close doesn't count. Don't add any extra colors to the palette. When you're ready to join our challenge click here.

I love our April Stamp of the Month: Little Hedgehogs! They are so cute and fun to create with. Using a pattern from our How-to Guide made it easy to put the card together. The pattern papers in the background add a nice touch. The green layer was stamped with a flower from the stamp set.

It's hard to believe we're already at April! How does it go so fast? Well this cute stamp set will make you smile! I smile every time I look at it. 

I got out my How-to Guide and ended up with this pattern for my card. Our guides make it SO easy to create a project. You get sample photos, cutting guides and placement guides. All you need to create a great looking card or layout!

Hedgehog Card ~ Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #571

Sketch challenges are a fun way to start a project. You have a "blueprint" to work from and pull in other details you want to create with. Each Monday our team at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge gives you a new sketch to inspire you. On Wednesday our blog opens for you to link your project.  Here's my take on this week's sketch.

I love the little hedgehogs set for April's Stamp of the Month. They are just too cute and fun to work with. I kept the coloring simple to compliment the background. The stripe paper is from our recent special: Gnomes for Spring. I'd still look for it online in case there is still some supply left.

Cute Chick Card ~ March Stamp of the Month

NOTE: It's still business as usual for March-April. 

It's Friday and that means a new color challenge from our team at Color Dare! For this challenge you pick your colors from a row, column or diagonal. After that you can add other colors from the grid. Please see the graphic for the fine print rules.

My card was inspired by Kim Wolff. Her's was so cute I just had to recreate it with my own spin for this color challenge! I used the top row of colors: Papaya, Sage and Sundance.

This is another example of how to use the Decorative Shapes Thin Cuts in an "out of the box" way. Did you see birdhouses when you looked at this set? Now I bet you can't un-see it!

This idea pairs so well with the March Stamp of the Month. What a great look! The chick is paper pieced so get that polka dot look. The arrows have a stitched edge making it easy to use a marker for the roof. 

I had to get a bit creative for the openings to the birdhouses. I started looking at my desktop for something to use and came up with the blade container for my Cricut blades. I traced it then colored it in. For the smaller birdhouse I landed on using the center of the small flower Thin Cut. I traced the center then colored it in. Perfect and well proportioned to the houses!

The flowers were colored with a marker for the center and a shimmer brush for the petals keeping a nice white look. Finally, I used some yellow Dots to draw coordinate with the chick. thick is also popped up for dimension.

March Stamp of the Month

 Wow! This March Stamp of the Month is SO versatile! You can create so many different look depending on which images you use. For this card I chose to use the daffodils and some pretty pattern paper. 

The paper comes from our Gnomes for Spring promotion (ending March 31st...while supplies last). The pattern from our How-to Guide shows stripes of papers for the background but I made it even more simple by using stripe paper from the packet! How's that for quick and easy? 

The flowers were stamped in Intense Black ink because I used a "wet" method of coloring and didn't want the ink to bleed. Shimmer Brushes were used and I love the look it creates. The Dots are from several different packs and tie in the colors well.

Just Chicken In ~ March Stamp of the Month

Here's a fun slimline card for you! Once again I used our How-to Guide to get started. I tweaked this one a bit by combining patterns 33 and 34. There is SO much you can do with our guides!

What do you think of those cute plaid chicks? I love them and that polka dot one, too. Sometimes you just need to go outside of the box. Plus, it makes adding color to your design in an effortless way!

The papers are from our current Special: Gnomes for Spring. I went with these papers when I noticed I could use clouds for the sky and a more ground-like pattern for the ... well... the ground! haha.

The shapes behind the chicks were made with our new Decorative Shapes Thin Cuts. There are SO many possibilities with these shapes! YOu're going to be seeing a lot of them in my projects. You better get yours ASAP so you don't miss out!

March Stamp of the Month

 Well here we are and it's March already! How did that happen? The good thing is that March means Spring is closer than it was in February, right! I don't know about you but I'm more than ready for Spring!

Our March Stamp of the Month: Just Chicken In is a fun stamp set with so many ways to use it! Those adorable little chicks are ready for all kinds of looks on cards or layouts! The spray of daffodils gives you a totally different way to create with this set. Here is a daffodil card I made to show off those pretty flowers.

The flower centers and stems were colored with pencils with the petals painted in Clear Shimmer Brush. 

I used our Irresistibles paper for and our Stitched Fancy Bracket Thin Cuts for the "frame" around the flowers.  The pattern of the Irresistible paper was enhanced with Lagoon Ink and a Blending Brush.The narrow strip of Honey Butter cardstock ties in with the flower centers creating a nice balance. A couple of the medium toned Journey Loose Sequins finished the look.
