Watercolor Leftovers ~ Color Dare #702

Welcome! Today I'm sharing an idea using the leftovers from a watercolor attempt. I say attempt because the flowers didn't turn out well with this color combo. I still had the leftovers and decided they would work great for this idea.

This was made for the Color Dare Challenge #702. Using at least 2 of the colors in the graphic, create any paper craft you like. Free colors can be used with the challenge colors but do not add any extra colors beyond that. When you're ready to join our challenge use the direct link below the graphic.

Here is the finished card. Colors are Blackberry Bliss, Soft Sea Foam and Cloud Cover. The colors are for a Color Dare Challenge that went live last Friday, May 1st. This design was inspired by Patti Dolan and I couldn't wait to give it a try!

Using the Scalloped Wishes Bundle.....I LOVE this bundle.....I die cut the elements for the oval . I decided to use a piece of DSP from the Nature Walk pack and I splattered Blackberry Bliss ink over that layer.

The flowers and leaves were die cut from leftover water colors and a piece of watercolor paper. When you watercolor with reinkers you get these wonderful puddles of ink left over. DON'T just wipe it up after you're done painting! Mix it up a bit then take your watercolor paper and blot it up. Turn the paper around and get all the pretty goodness onto that paper! Use the Glass Mat or Silicone Craft Sheet for your watercolor projects. They wipe clean after you're all finished.

Here are my puddles of ink mixed together a bit with a piece of watercolor paper ready to go. When painting you drop your ink with space between them. Once done painting move that ink around so it's diluted, close together and even mixing in some places. Lay the watercolor on top and press, smooth and soak up the ink. Soak up as much as your paper will hold.

NOTE: Our regular size Cloud Cover ink pad is not yet ready for purchase. In the meantime all you have to do is get the Uninked Stampin' Spots and the Cloud Cover Reinker. Viola! You now have a Cloud Cover ink pad.

This is what my piece of watercolor paper looked like after die cutting. You can see that I picked out the places I wanted to use for my leaves and flowers. I still have more space I can use on other projects!

Here is a look at the inside of my card. It's always fun to decorate the inside, too! Don't forget the envelope as well.

I hope you use this tip when you watercolor. Using the leftovers makes our supplies even more versatile and cost efficient!

Have fun and we can't wait to see what you create with our colors!
