Joyful Sunflower ~ Color Dare #403

Do you like chocolate? This is the color challenge for you? Use shades of chocolate....umm...I mean browns and pair it with only TWO colors of your choice. Black, White and Gold are free colors to use also. Make any paper craft you like then link to our Color My Heart Color Dare home page to join the challenge. How's that for easy!

I'm also sharing this card at Heart 2 Heart Challenge.

For my card I went with our new Joyful Sunflower stamp set. I used a spotlight technique where you only color part of the the focal image. With the sunflower set it was easy to create this look.

Inside of card left blank for now.

For My Beautiful Friend ~ July SOTM Blog Hop

Since it's the first of the month it's time for our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! Each month we feature artwork starring images from the current Stamp of the Month. This month we have a fantastic stamp set called For My Beautiful Friend.

Our blog hop is one big circle so you can hop on and off at your pleasure but I think you're going to want to stay on for the entire ride! Our consultants are very talented and have fantastic and creative ideas! The blog before mine belongs to Brandi Robinson. Click the link in each post to hop to the next blog. It's that easy!

For my card I wanted to showcase some of the smaller images in the set. Sometimes those images get kind of lost among the larger images but they deserve to shine all on their own! I love the small floral border and used it to flank the sentiment. I stamped the border in the middle of my strip and then filled it in on the ends to complete the look. The butterfly and flowers were colored with our TriBlend Markers.  The leaves were colored with a Shimmer Brush. The color on top of the sentiment is an image in the stamp set!

NOTE: A Stamp of the Month is only available in the month it's featured. So For My Beautiful Friend is only available from July 1-31, 2020. You can get the set for only $5 with a qualifying order! Click here for all the details.

For the background I used a pattern from our Brushed pack. This is a Special for July and is a beautiful collection of colors and patterns available in bundles or individually. I also accented with a narrow strip of Glitter Paper.

The butterfly is painted with a shimmer brush and on the flowers I gave them a glittery center using Stickles. Tip: when I added the butterfly I put adhesive on one wing and a piece of foam tape on the other wind. I bent the butterfly a bit in the middle and put it on the card. This gives a little 3D effect and looks so cute!

Color Dare #202 ~ Browns with White Daisy OR Colonial White

Ok I'll admit it. I am not a fan of the color brown. I know a lot of you out there love brown but I'm not one of them! BUT, once I got over the initial, "ewwww, brown", I dug in and decided this was the perfect color dare for some heritage photos! This week we are challenging you to use Colony al White with 1, several or all the Browns!
So here comes another fun Color My Heart Color Dare!

This layout is really very simple. I chose the browns that would make the photos pop and added some dry embossed layers. HINT: I learned from a friend that when dry embossing use a piece of foam as a layer and your cardstock won't crack! I used a stripe embossing folder to go with all the lines in the photos and made me think about railroad tracks. A bling and the layout was done. HINT: to make the clear sparkles go with the color dare I used a marker to change the color to a light brown!

You can join the fun by creating any kind of paper craft. If you don't have the exact colors use something close. Then you link to either our blog or Facebook page! Details on how to join are in the sidebar of the Color My Heart home page. While there be sure to check out what the other Design Team members created to inspire you!

All products are Close To My Heart:
--Cardstock: Saddle, Cashmere, Cocoa
--Embossing Folder: Stripes
--Embellisments: Florence Sequins, Gold Sequins, Clear Sparkles
--ShinHan Marker: Mahogany

Now it's your turn! Off you go! Get your fingers inky!
