Color Dare #154 ~ Smokey Plum + White Daisy

Welcome to this week's Color My Heart color dare! 

Each Friday our Design Team challenges you with a color palette. This week it's Smokey Plum with White Daisy! I love Smokey Plum and it goes so well with the clean and crisp White Daisy.

I made a standard sized top fold card (5.5" x 4.25"). I love these small flowers from the Happy Autumn stamp set. This set will be retiring at the end of August, so if you like it get it now! 

I stamped the flowers and layered on cardstock, but on the card base I did a little distressing. First I dry embossed the lines around the outside of the card base using my dry embossing tool and paper trimmer. Next I used the sanding block to lightly sand the raised lines and show the white core of the cardstock. The Happy Birthday is stamped in White Daisy pigment ink. Remember pigment ink takes longer to dry. I had the time so I let it dry overnight. If you want a quicker fix, use your craft heater to dry it or clear emboss over it.

Color My Heart -- Olive, Autumn Terracotta, Goldrush

Well here we are with a new Color Dare from Color My Heart! Grab your Olive, Autumn Terracotta and Goldrush inks and let's get creative!

The cute little flower sprig is from the Happy Autumn set. There are even more beautiful images in the set so go check it out on my website!

So first I sponge the background using Goldrush making the edges darker. The flowers are stamped in Autumn Terracotta. The ribbon was sponged with the dare colors on our Color Ready ribbon. A little detail was added to the Olive cardstock with our new scallop punch. The message is from Casual Expressions. Be sure to check out these two stamp sets? They have a lot of great images not seen on this card! Finally, I sponged all around the outside of the card with Goldrush and added some tiny pearls from the Mocha collection.

Close To My Heart new product blog hop

This is a 7" x 5" side fold card I made using the Frosted papers and Happy Autumn stamp set. Even though Frosted has patterns that are definitely wintery, there are also patterns that are very neutral and will work any time of year and for any occasion! I did a little cutting of the flower petals and popped them up with a bit of 3D Foam. It's hard to tell in the photo, but in real life it gives some added dimension. As you can see, I also stamp rolled the flowers and leaves. I started with Twilight ink and rolled in Slate. I especially love stamp rolling flowers! The little sparkle flourish is another new item. It's just the right size when you want just a touch of a sparkly flourish! The message is from the Perfect Fit-Birthday and stamped in Slate. You can also see a background I made with a Cuttlebug folder because I wanted some real texture to layer the flowers against. The cardstock used is Colonial White, Slate and Crystal Blue.
