Notes of Collage Card ~ Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 703

Welcome to a new sketch from our team at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge! Every Monday we share a new sketch to inspire you. This sketch is Team B's turn and I really like it!

Use our sketch to create any paper craft. You can flip. flop, twist, rotate the sketch. We just need to be able to see the sketch in your design. Change the elements, too, if you like.

Our sketch goes live on Monday with our blog opening for entries on Wednesday. Have fun with the sketch!

I kept the sketch mostly like it is. I did change the flower elements and location of the gems. Here are the measurements of my layers from the card base up:
  • card base: 11" x 4-1/4" top fold in Cajun Craze CS to make a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" base
  • Very Vanilla CS 4" x 5-1/4"
  • Painted Collage DSP: 3-3/4" x 2-3/8" (cut 2)
  • Panel mats: 1-3/4" x 3-1/4" (cut 2)
  • Painted Collage Panels: 1-1/2" x 3" (cut 2)
  • Very Vanilla Scraps for stamping images.
The small leaf images were stamped in 1st and 2nd generation Secret Sea ink then die cut. I nipped the image in half and used both pieces to create a fuller look. the broad leaves were stamped the same way and fussy cut.

The panel layers are popped up on Dimensionals with the leaves tucked underneath. I used the stamp of little dots to add some detail along the Low Profile Gems (retired).

I lined the inside with a piece of the DSP left over from the front. In the lower corner I stamped the same images in the same way to tier it all together. There is plenty of space for writing a custom message when the card is used.

I hope you like my card and are inspired to give our sketch challenge a try! We love seeing how you use our sketch. Change it up with pattern papers, colors, images...whatever suits your mood! Most of all, have fun!

The Notes of Collage Suite seen above will be available next month as part of the Online Exclusives. It was used in an online class earlier this year in case you have some left over!

The broad leaves image on my card is from the Collage Botanicals set currently retired. Use any set you have to create some magic to tuck under the panels.

Fall Leaves Card ~ Color Dare #723

It's time for a new color challenge from our team at Color Dare. Every Friday we give you a new palette of colors to get you started. Make any paper craft you like.  When you're ready to join our challenge see the direct ink below the graphic.

The rules are simple. Use the challenge colors to create a project. Make sure your colors are a close match to the challenge colors. Do Not add any extra colors beyond the Free colors mentioned in the graphic.

I'm still creating in Fall/Autumn mode and went with a design showing leave in their colorful glory. I used the Lustrous Leaves Bundle that includes Hot Foil Dies and Masks. This combo creates gorgeous leave for any time of the year depending on the colors you pick!

Using Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight inks with Blending Brushes I colored the leaves after they were Hot Foiled. Click here to learn about our Hot Foil System.  Once the leaves were colored I used the die to cut them out all at once. How's that for easy!

I really love our new Softy Woven Embossing Folder! I mean I REALLY love it! It gives  fantastic texture to your projects without stealing the show from your focal image. I also use a bonding brush and Crumb Cake ink to add some color around the edges. Doesn't it bring out the pattern nicely?

Next came die cutting a grid like shape to go under the leaves. This piece grounds the design so it doesn't look like the leaves are floating in air. The leaves are placed in a cluster with the largest one popped up on Dimensionals. This detail adds depth to the design so everything doesn't look flat.

A hot foiled sentiment, Twine bow and some Dots are the finished touches. What do you think? Is this a design you'd try?

On the inside I stamped a fun sentiment and added a leaf that matches the card front design. It's always fun to bring some of your design to the inside of the card and the envelope! Don't send "naked" envelopes! Since I'm hand delivering this card I used some more Hot Foiled leaves and glued them to the envelope.

Ok are you ready to give our color challenge a try? We love seeing how our colors inspire your creativity! Have fun!
