Embossed Wreath Card ~ Color Dare #680

It's Friday! That means a new color challenge from our Design Team at Color Dare. This one sets the mood for Christmas using the traditional colors of red and green.  We also offer some Free colors for you to use in addition to the red and green. See the graphic for more info. What you can't do is add colors beyond what's listed on the graphic.

Make any paper craft you like. When you're ready to join our challenge use the direct link below the graphic.

I kept the design fairly simple for my card. I embossed the wreath and layered it with tone on tone colors. I used a gold metallic marker around the edge to give some separation of the two layers.

Red was added with the ribbon and gems. The sentiment comes from our ephemera pack of Christmas messages. I added some gold and white twine and popped it up on foam.

That's it! It was done quickly and easily with these products.

Now it's your turn to create and share using these colors. Be creative and have fun!

Color Dare #178 ~ Glacier, Pixie, Thistle + White Daisy

This week the Design Team at Color My Heart has a very pretty color combo to inspire you! Glacier, Thistle, Pixie and White Daisy is a ver versatile set of colors! I needed to make a birthday card for my granddaughter and this is what I came up with using the color dare as my guide.

I used a blending pen and the ink in the lid of the stamp pads to color the hippo. The tutu, bow, shoes and toenails were colored with markers. It turned out very cute, don't you think?

Color Dare #171 ~ Cranberry & Pear + White & Gold

This week the Design Team at Color My Heart has a festive color combination! At least I thought it was a festive combination!

This is a standard size card (4.25" x 5.5"). I embossed two layers with the Damask embossing folder  using the Square Diffuser on the top layer then layered them on Gold Glitter paper. Tip: Use Liquid Glass to adhere cardstock...or anything....to glitter paper. I stamped the cute little tree in Pear ink and added a gold glitter star from the Gold Fundamental Assortment. The heart is actually red so I darkened it to more of a Cranberry tone with our Cherry Pink ShinHan marker.

OH.... I almost forgot! I didn't use full layers of the gold glitter paper! I cut the paper to the sized I needed then cut out the center leaving 1/2" for the outer edge...like a frame! Saves on glitter paper, cardstock, etc!

Color Dare #169 ~ White on White with Black Sentiment

Welcome to a very interesting Color My Heart color dare for this week! The challenge is to use only white and black! There are many ways to do this and I chose to add texture to the white by dry embossing and also using the circle diffuser. The white Shimmer Trim also adds some texture and sparkle! One tip for working with Shimmer Trim: if you need to attach something to the trim use Liquid Glass. I put some Liquid Glass on the back of the bow and set something to weight it down for a while. When I came back to it later it was secure!
