Trusty Tools Card ~ Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #637

Welcome to a new sketch from our Deign Team at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Each Monday we give you a new sketch to jump start your creativity. You can do whatever you like with the sketch. We just need to be able to see the sketch design in your project.

This sketch is what I would call easy. Then again, sometimes easy isn't really, well, easy! Haha. For me this card came together quickly once I decided on the stamp set I wanted to use.

I stayed with the sketch presentation as is and got busy putting all the elements in place. The Trusty Tools stamp set and dies sparked the use of Country Woods DSP. After that is was simple and I was off and running!

I took my color from the pattern paper (DSP). I love the pegboard die and used it for the background layer for the tools. There are so many wonderful tools in this stamp set and die cut set!!! Some coordinate with each other and some are stand alone. So many ways to have fun!

Sunrise Sailing Card

I've been having fun playing with the new Sunrise Sailing Bundle creating beautiful masculine themed cards. This card was inspired by Robyn Pike of craftystamper. I loved the idea of using a wood pattern for part of the sail boat. Thank you for the inspiration Robyn.

I first stamped the sailboat on Secret Sea with ?Secret Sea ink. I die cut the image in both the stamped Secret Sea and wood pattern papers. I hand cut the space between the sails and the right sail of the boat on the wood paper. Layer these the pieces to create the boat as seen.

The background is one of the patterns from the Beautiful Gallery pack. These papers are AMAZING! I'm having so much fun with all the ways you can use them!

Seagulls are always around the boats and there is a cute little die for this. A sentiment and some gems finished the front.

Because this paper is so pretty I find myself finding ways to use all the scraps! After trimming the piece for the front of the card I had the perfect scrap to add to the inside.

Another Masculine Look

This card is so versatile! All you have to do is switch out the papers/colors to create an entirely different feeling! As you can see, this time I decided to go with a masculine look.

The only tricky part of this design is cutting the diagonal pieces. Start with two different pieces of pattern paper (3 3/8" by 5"). You can draw the diagonal lines on the back if you like or use cutting lines on your paper trimmer. Cut the diagonal lines and you now have the pieces to make 2 cards! The papers will be the opposite on the 2nd card which is a fun look, too.

A stamped image/sentiment covers the meeting point of the papers. I popped up my sentiment on Thin Foam Tape. After that all it needed was a few gems for some sparkle.
