Color Dare 273 ~ Non-Traditional Colors

This week I'm on the Color My Heart team using Non-Traditional colors. No red and green here! Actually, I gravitate towards the non-traditional colors anyway so this project was a breeze!

I think gold or silver heat embossing goes well with the holidays. It takes cards to a special level and is easy to do. I'm sharing two cards this week because they are similar other than the stamps used.

On the first card I stamped the tree then silver embossed the detail on top. The ink wasn't totally dry when I embossed so you see some shimmer on the tree, too. Not the way it's usually done but in this case I decided it added a frosty feel to the tree. The striped paper is gold to go with the gold star on top of the tree.

This card has embossed ornaments in gold and silver. After embossing I used the matching Thin Cuts to cut them out. Thin cuts makes crafting quick and easy!
