Butterfly Fun ~ Color Dare #335

Color Dare #335 is based on colors from the monochromatic photo you see here.
We reference Close To My Heart colors but you can use any brand you have as long as it's a close match to colors you see in the photo.

You can make any paper craft you like. You can also add White as a free color and 1 other neutral color used as a bit of an accent.

Link to the Color My Heart Color Dare home page.

Color Dare #335 is open through Thursday April 4, 2019.

It's all about being Pink over at Color My Heart Color Dare! For this challenge you can use whatever pinks you like! Add some White and ONE Neutral color as a small accent color. Neutral colors can be black, greys or browns.

I can't get enough of the Butterfly Friendship set AND it has the option of coordinating Thin Cut dies to go with it. No fussy cutting going on here! The card design is from out How-to book called Make It from Your Heart Vol. 4, pattern 4. It's so easy when you have all the details right there on the page!

For my card I wanted to use Vellum with the butterfly. I first stamped the butterfly on the cardstock, then on the vellum. The fill-in image is in Raspberry ink. the Thin Cut die was used to cut out the vellum butterfly. I scored along the body and folded up the wings for a 3D effect. Two glue dots adhered the vellum body to the other butterfly.

Before assembling the card pieces I used the Clear Shimmer Brush to pick up some ink from the lid of the Raspberry pad and spattered it on the card base. The polka dot and striped papers come from the Mix-in paper pack. Thin Cuts were used for the circles, too.

  1. This is so pretty and Raspberry and grey are such a great combination. The ink splatters add the perfect finishing touch to your card.

  3. The Vellum butterfly is very sweet. Love how you mixed the black with the pink as the accent colour.
