Tropical Look ~ Color Dare #663

Welcome to a new color challenge from our Design Team at Color Dare. This week we have a 3 color challenge for you. You must use all 3 colors shown in the graphic. Make sure your colors are a close match. See the graphic for the fine print info.

Make any paper craft you like. When you're ready to join our challenge click here.

My project ended up having a tropical feeling to it. At least it feels that way to me even though I wasn't thinking tropical at the time. Anyway, I started with the Irresistible Designs paper and a blending brush to create the pretty blue background.  This paper is amazing and comes with 3 different patterns: flowers, leaves and plaid. All you have to do is rub ink over the paper then wipe with a paper towel. This removes the ink on the pattern since it won't stick to the embossed images. Use one color like I did here or use many. It's up to you!

When I stamped the sentiment I wanted to use the other two colors in the challenge. I decided to use a double inked method by inking the stamp the lighter yellow color first. Before stamping I touched the stamp to the orange ink to get the two-tone look you see here.

Next I sorted through my container of Fully Flowering Ephemera pack pieces to see if there was something that fit the color challenge. Lucky me! I found the perfect little flowers to accent the corner of the sentiment layer. I added some ribbon and popped it up on foam. A few gems and I was done!

The style of this script is really fun and eye-catching. It's a great way to add a sentiment as a focal point. The color(s) you use can greatly alter the softness or boldness of the look.

Layered Thoughts

I love the patterns on the resist papers. They can work their way into any project and wear any color(s) you like! With the 12" x 12" size you have a lot of paper for many projects!

Irresistable Designs

The pretty images in the ephemera pack can help make your projects look amazing with very little effort!

So now it's your turn! How will you use our colors in a project? We can't wait to see what you create!
