What's Up Wednesday ~ Team Sketch Challenge

Our Team Sketch Challenge for August is this sketch from Atlantic Hearts. It's a great sketch with so many ways to interpret the design. I actually have two versions to share with this first one counting for the team challenge as it uses all current products.

I LOVE the Flora Washi Tape and felt it was a good choice for this challenge. Di you know that with the coordinating die you can die cut an entire section of images? It's true! There is a pink section and a purple section of flowers with greenery making it super easy. Put the washi tape on cardstock, die cut and starting creating!

Blackberry Bliss is one of my favorite colors in our lineup and just happens to go well with the flowers. The Thoughtful Journey DSP has a piece that just happens to have this color on the back so I was all set to go!

I splattered the white cardstock first. Just take your Stampin' Blend and flick the brush tip on the edge of the cap to get the splatters. It softens all the white area nicely.

The sentiment layer is a frame with gold edges so I continued that touch by adding some Gold Rub-on shapes. They work together well and carry the theme through the design.

Next it was a matter of adding the flowers around the sentiment. Some are popped up on foam and others glued directly to the card front to enhance dimension.  A small flower was placed on the inside of the card for an accent.

To use the Rub-ons just cut out the section you want to use. Place it on your project with the white side up then rub it. I use a bone folder or block and sometimes my fingers. It's an easy way to add some gold or silver without heat embossing.

Metallic Textured Rub-ons

A few basic products to complete the design:
Here is another look for this sketch great for a masculine look.

Adventurous Sky is no longer available but check your stash for it. It's a fun set! Paired with Timeless Plaid and Shades of Green Hexagon gems makes a great look! The card base is Misty Moonlight.

The important part is to have fun with as sketch. Look for different ways to create with it. Change the papers, inks accents. Even little changes can make a very different look!
