Yesterday in my What's Up Wednesday post I shared how changing out the card stock color can make a huge difference in the Berry Botanical Vellum and how it looks. This idea works with any project really. A simple color change is an easy way to alter the look of your design.
I promised to share my favorite 3 color combinations today and here they are! Soft Sea Foam, Fresh Freesia and Hydrangea Hue. Let's take a closer look.
Hydrangea Hue was going to be a favorite because it's my favorite new 2026-2028 In Color. This color really brings out the blues and accents the other colors, too. Adding the butterflies seemed like a natural with all the flowers.
Fresh Freesia is layered on a Highland Heather card base. I love all the purple tones but it also makes the other colors pop, too. For fun I used our New White Gel Pen to dots the flower centers.
Our White Gel Pen is the best I've ever used! There is no struggle to get the ink flowing and keep it flowing! You need to check it out!

Soft Sea Foam is another soft look brining out the greens in the Vellum. Simple butterfly accents are all it needed to finish the look.
As you can see, I favored the softer look with the colors. I do really like the darker colors, too, but those felt more Autumn-like and since we're entering Summer here I leaned towards the lighter look. However, the lesson is how changing the colors can make very different looks!
Give it a try and see what you think. Have fun with stand maybe you'll surprise yourself with what your favorites will be.
