Waterside Retreat Bendy Card

Today I'm sharing another Bendy Card this time in the 5" x 7" size. My previous Bendy Card was the regular A2 size. Click here to see that one.

The Bendy Card might look tricky to create but you'll be surprised how easy it really is! Here are the dimensions I used for the card stock and DSP on this larger size:

  • base: 5" x 7", DSP 5-3/4" x 6-3/4"
  • inside layer: 4-1/2" x 3-1/2", DSP 4-1/4" x 3-1/4"
  • strip: 1" x 7-1/2", DSP 3/4" x 6-3/4"
The size of the inside layer was determined by the scene cut from the DSP pack.

It looks really nice when you add images to the different layers. It gives a nice depth to the design.

On the inside and strip you score 1/2" from each end to make the tab you glue to the card. The base and inside layer are both scored in half after the DSP has been added.

NOTE: This card does not fold to mail. Keep it flat and slide it into the envelope. Then it can pop up to stand on its own.

This photo is shot a bit from above and shows you how the card works a bit more. You can see one of the inside layer tabs that is glued to the card. The score lines were lined up then the tabs glued down. The tabs on the strip are lined up with the outside edge of the base.

Check out my post for the A2 version (link is above) for more detail on making this card. I hope you give it a try.
