Did you know you don't always need stamps to create a beautiful card? It's true and this is a great example.
When you have a pattern paper pack like Artisan Sketched Garden you can use the images as black and white OR you can color the images for any look you want! The images are so pretty you use them in place of a stamped image. Let's take a look.
The vase of flowers was fussy cut from a full sheet of DSP (designer series paper). It's a full 12" x 12" sheet featuring a variety of images. All the papers in the pack have black and white images on one side and a coordinating pattern on the back. On July 7th I showed you one of the other patterns and an idea for coloring the design. This time I used Stampin' Blend markers to color the image.I love the look of a bright red with black and added a touch of gray for the water. As long as everything coordinates you can go with something like gray water and it looks fine. The flowers are popped up on Mini Dimensionals which are a bit thinner than the regular dimensional. I added a little bow of black twine for fun.
The multiple layers framing the focal image layer create some drama and draw your eyes in to the flowers. the white layer is embossed for texture and the red gems are actually white pearl. I used the same red marker to color the gem to match! Oh, the sentiment is one of a set from our ephemerals pack.
