Double Trouble Card Challenge #228

Today I'm sharing a challenge from the Double Trouble Team called Snickerdoodles. Here are the details:

3-2-1 Recipe "Snickerdoodles" Oct. 26 - Nov. 8

3 - Doodle-style images - hand-drawn and/or stamped

2 - Layers - card base can be included

1 - Sentiment

Optional twist is to use a fun pun on your project.

Here is what I came up with for this challenge.

I'm in Christmas Card making mode so that is where my mind went for a design. I thought this tree looked like a doodled type of look, but to be sure I also doodled a line for the string of lights.

Whispering Woods DSP is taking care of the background for me. The tree I stamped is popped up on the top area and glued at the bottom. The lights are Rhinestone Basic Jewels colored with a Real Red marker. for some sparkle I added Wink of Stella to mimic snow on the ground.

Of course the tree needed a star and I had one in my stash of Hot Foil Christmas sentiments. the star is popped up, too. The sentiment is a Hot Foil one in Silver from the same Christmas set. It's a great set because you can hot foil a bunch of sentiments all at once! I keep the extras in plastic case to use later.

The inside  has a leftover piece of the DSP from the front. I added a simple sentiment and some snowflakes to dress it up a bit.

They have a sketch pairing if you want to work that into your design. I didn't use the sketch of a fun pun. It just didn't fit my design this time. I have the 3-2-1 recipe though!

Take a look at their challenge. They always come up with great ideas!
