Flowers Flair ~ Color Dare #707

Are you in the mood for a color challenge? Our Design Team at Color Dare will get your creativity going with this color palette seen below. You must use at least 3 of the colors shown in the graphic. There are Free colors you can also use either the challenge colors, but don't add any extra colors beyond that.

Make any paper craft you like. When you're ready to join our challenge use the direct link below the graphic.

This color palette whispered "flowers" in my ear when I sat down to create. One of my favorite stamps to use for a floral card is the Flowers Fair stamp. It's one large stamp that can create a big and beautiful look or die cut the image like I did here to use part of the image.

After stamping in Memento Black ink I used our Blends to color the image and background. My colors are Bubble Bath, Melon Mambo, Pretty Peacock and Azure Afternoon. I used the light Blend of each color.

Once I had the flowers colored I die cut to get the image then colored the background. It looks like a pretty blue sky surrounding the flowers.

The Forever Plaid Embossing Folder created a nice texture for the white layer and it's all counted on a Bubble Bath card base.

Splatters of Wink of Stella added a pretty sparkle to the design. Tiny butterflies seemed a perfect accent to the theme, too, as well as a small bo for the upper corner.

I always like to bring the design to the inside of the card, too. Just a small portion of the image is all that was needed for the lower corner. Link of Stella splatters add a nice sparkle on the inside ad well. When I use the card I'll customize it by adding a sentiment for the occasion.

Flowers Fair Card ~ Color Dare #701

It's time for another color challenge from our team at Color Dare. Every Friday we give you a new palette of color to get you started on a project. For this challenge you must use at least TWO of the colors shown in our graphic. There are Free colors we let you use with the challenge colors. DO NOT add any colors beyond what is in our graphic.

Make any paper craft you like. When you're ready to join our challenge use the direct link below our graphic. Most of all, have fun!

My design ended up using all 3 colors plus Black and White. I love how bright it turned out!

Starting with the Product of the Month for April: Eyelet Blooms I created some pretty layers. The die cut layer for the flowers is actually a little peek at a new item coming in May! It's the Sweet Words & Labels Dies and I love all the different looks we'll be able to create with these dies!

HINT: to remove all the little pieces of card stock our Take Your Pick Tool with the Brush Tip work really well! Just run it back and forth on the back and the pieces will come out of the die! No poking involved. Also, the flat tip works great for placing gems.

The flowers are stamped in our NEW HYBRID Basic Black ink. Yes....another peek at a product coming May 5th! The Hybrid pad is going to give us versatility with being able to color with markers and watercolors! Just stamp, wait a bit for it to dry then color away!

I love this technique of coloring the flowers then adding color to the background. The colors for this challenge lended itself perfectly to this technique! The blue looks like sky surrounding the flowers. By the way, this is only a very small part of the image. The stamp is full size but you don't always need to use it all.

Once colored in I die cut and popped it up on dimensionals. I love how the red shows through the eyelet die cut!

How will you use our challenge colors? We can't wait to find out!

Flowers Fair ~ Color Dare #694

Welcome to our Color Dare Challenge! Our Design Team gives you a new set of colors each Friday. Then you create any paper craft you like using only those colors! We do give you some Free colors to add but don't use any colors beyond that.

When you're ready to join our challenge, use the direct link below our graphic. Most of all, have fun!

Our new Flowers Fair stamp set was on my desk and I immediately had this idea pop to mind so I went with it. I love how it turned out!

I started by stamping in Secret Sea ink and coloring with Stampin' Blend markers. I wanted to leave as much white space as possible so the color parts would pop! My colors are Timid Tiger and Shaded Spruce.  I added some accents as the idea grew. The ribbon, gems on the sentiment layer and the splatters of Wink of Stella. The splatters are always had to photo but on the picture below you can see them as "white" spots. Trust me, they are there and so pretty in person!

As you can see, the envelope is decorated, too! Don't send naked envelopes! Let the excitement begin at the mailbox when they see it for the first time. Since the makers bleed through the paper I put a scrap piece inside the envelope before coloring to prevent the bleeding to the back of the envelope. I also colored with the flap open for the same reason.

For the inside I kept them theme going by adding a scrap of the floral panel from the front after I die cut. Use those scraps on the inside of your card! It makes it so pretty and is a nice surprise.
