Embossed Panel Card

 Today I'm sharing an idea that uses both dry embossing and heat embossing! It creates a beautiful contrast and really is easy to do!

Let's start with the layers: card base 4.25" x 5.5", black CS: 4" x 5.25". Glue the black to the card base and set aside. Simple, right?

The panels are 1.5" x 3.75". You'll need 1 black CS and 2 in Copper Foil. 

I put all 3 panels in the Sunflower embossing folder right next to each other and sent it through the embossing machine.

Once embossed you can glue the copper foil panels to the card front. Place them on the outer edges saving the inside area for the black CS.

Using a Versamark pad gently tap it onto the embossed black CS. Sprinkle on the Copper Metallic Embossing Powder. Tap off the excess and heat set. Now this panel is ready to be glues to the middle of the card front.

I didn't use a sentiment or any embellishments because I felt the beautiful panels were enough, but it's up to you if you'd like more on the front! We all have our own styles and that's what makes it fun.

I mentioned this was easy, right? Now do you believe me? Why not give it a try yourself. It would look great in the other Metallic Wow colors, too.

Sunflower Look ~ Color Dare #670

You know what Friday means!!! A new color challenge from our Design Team at Color Dare Challenge! Each Friday we go live with a new color challenge to get you started creating. Make any paper craft you like. If you care combining challenges be careful with your colors to make sure they meet our rules. For my project I decided to go with an idea from Pinterest. It's a simple idea and will work with so many different products. Here I'm using our Sunflower Embossing Folder and plaid paper to create the design. The embossing was done on Cloud Cover CS and inked with sponge daubers. That layer was torn and layered with CS as an accent.

I used Antique Pearls for my embellishments after I colored them with a Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blend Marker. When coloring gems the color usually comes out a bit lighter so you may want to use a darker shade.

Sunflower Card ~ Color Dare #662

 Welcome to a new Color Dare Challenge. This challenge is to use White and Gold Metallic with one color of your choice. See the graphic for the fine print info. Note: your color of choice should not be one of the free colors.

I chose Strawberry Slush to go with White and Gold. It's one of our new In Colors for 2025-2027 and I love it! 

Using the new Sunflower 3D Embossing folder gave me a deeply embossed design. I added the Gold embossing to the flower centers and the sentiment. Next I added the pink using a sponge dauber. With the raised edges it was easy to add color to the flower petals. 

Adding a layer in Black made the pink and gold tones really pop. The punch made a nice detail on the sentiment tag.

What's Up Wednesday ~ Sunflower Embossing Folder Technique

Are you ready to be amazed? This technique will do that for sure!

Our Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder is pure magic! 

• Use it all by itself on cardstock for a beautiful look. 
• Add some ink to take it up a notch.  
• Use it on DSP to kick it up higher.
• Swipe ink across the raised design to take it to the top!!!

This pair of cards were done with embossed DSP then ink swiped. The results are stunning and the variety can be endless. 

The card on the left was created with Everyday Skies DSP, Country Woods DSP with Misty Moonlight and Calypso Coral inks. 

The card on the right uses Beautiful Bokeh DSP, Country Woods DSP, and Balmy Blue and Fresh Freesia Inks.

The sentiments were created using the Happy labels Punch, 1-7/8" Circle Punch.  Rhinestones accent the look. Cardstock used: Misty Moonlight, Basic White, Fresh Freesia.

Step 1

Emboss the DSP before trimming down the 6"x6" DSP.  In the photo the left DSP is embossed but the right one isn't. Thee is so much color to work with in these DSP packs!

Step 2

Swipe the edge of the ink pad across the embossed (raised side) DSP. Holding the ink pad at an angle helps. The flatter the angle the more ink goes onto the DSP, so be careful. You can always add more ink but you can't take it away if it's too much. 

Use one color of ink or several. It's up to you. I've used 2 colors on my cards. The color choices come from those listed on the pack of DSP making it easy!

In the photo below I swiped the Balmy Blue ink all over except for the lower right corner. The top area was swiped with both colors. You can see the differences in no ink, to 1 ink color to finally having 2 ink colors blend and created so much depth!

Step 3

Now it's time to trim the DSP. Mine are trimmed to 4"x 5-1/4". Perfect for layering on a card front. Save the slim scrap to use on the inside of the card. Keep the other piece for a future project.

The way I cut the DSP I have a piece for the card front, one for across the bottom on the inside and one nice sized piece for a future project.

At this point you're ready to finish your card. Mount it on the cardstock color of your choice. Accent with a sentiment and gems of your choice and you have a beautiful card to send to someone!
