Technique Hop -- All Lit Up!

With the new Annual Inspirations book comes lots of new products and ideas. Our monthly Technique Hop will be featuring the techniques/ideas seen in the book. It will be so much fun to see all the different ways one idea can inspire us....and in turn YOU!

If you've arrived from Sheila's blog you're on the right path. Just keep clicking on the links at the end of each post to continue on the hop.

This month, look on page 88 for the All Lit Up technique. This one is easy....just add glitter paper to your creation! Glitter paper can be added in many, many ways as bases, borders, shapes, embellishments, letters, and more! You can use a little or go bold and use a lot!

I used the August Stamp of the Month called What a Hoot (only available Aug 1-31). This little owl is so darn cute! I chose to make his mask out of black glitter paper and gave him some google eyes, too. I also used some of our new purple glitter paper as a banner. There isn't a lot of glitter paper, but it jazzes up the look of the card! Our new Shinhan markers were used for adding color both inside and out. The ovals were easily cut with our Artiste Cricut cartridge.

As you can see I layered the inside message. I did this because when using alcohol markers there is some bleed through. I didn't want that showing on the back of my card. So I cut a small piece of CS for the message, colored and then layered it on the inside of the card. No bleed through is seen!

All products are Close To My Heart:

--Colonial White cardstock
--Black Exclusive Inks pad
--Black Glitter Paper

Now it's time to hop over to Wendy Kessler's blog for some more inspiration!

Have a great day.
