CTMH Technique Blog Hop ~ Vellum Makes Everything Better

Welcome to our monthly Technique Blog Hop. This month we are featuring Vellum and the different ways it can be used.
If you've come from Tammy Lubick's blog you're on the right path. Just keep clicking the link in each post to continue to the next blog.

I love vellum! I decided to heat emboss on vellum from the Uptown paper pack. You have to heat the powder carefully so you don't burn the vellum or make it warp too much. After I was finished the heat embossing I put the vellum under a book to weight it down and make it flat again. The bows were cut from Cricut Flower Market.

In the first photo I tore around the image. Velum tears easily so be gentle.

In this photo I cut around the image with scissors.

In this photo you can see the flowers are colored in. I used watercolor pencils and colored on the BACK of the vellum. Coloring on the back gives a nice soft look and works with markers, too. The lines in the vellum are hard to see because I backed it with white to show off the colors!
