Slimline Card ~ Heart 2 Heart

How are you doing today? I'm sharing a card I hope will give you a smile. The talented group over at Heart 2 Heart  Challenges has a fun one going now.....Slimline Cards! This is a popular size for cards right now and lends itself to creative ways to design them.  The challenge is simple: make a slimline card!

My card is inspired by one made by Trina Wirihana. I have made a couple of adjustments but kept with the color scheme. Close To My Heart now has Slimline Cards & Envelopes which make getting started very easy! Add to that our new Diagonal Stripe Slimline Thin Cut Die and you are on your way to a really fun way to design a slimline card.

I used the Happiness Lives Here Paper Packet for the floral pattern paper. It's on the background and for the hills in the foreground. The sheep were stamped in Intense Black Ink which is good for not smearing when coloring. The sheep were colored with a light and medium shade of grey marker with a touch of pink for the ears. The little chick was colored with two shades of light yellow.

The word "thank" was stamped on the rectangle with "ewe" being hand written with a marker. The edges were drawn across the Peach ink pad to create a defined edge. Thanks comes from the January Stamp of the Month set called Every Thank You. This set will only be available until January 31st!

The two sheep in the back were tucked behind the hill with the other in the front popped up with Thin 3D Foam Tape. The chick was also popped with foam tape as were the hearts.

As a last step, the hearts were painted with Peach Shimmer and Rose Gold sequins were sprinkled around on the card.  The inside was left blank so a custom sentiment can be added when it's used.
