March/April New Catalog Blog Hop

Welcome to our New Catalog Blog Hop. You'll be seeing ideas from the same group of talented Maker from the Stamp of the Month Hop. The blog before mine belongs to Cat Nowak. Keep clicking on the links in each post to hop to the next blog.

I decided to use the Daisy Meadow Cardmaking Workshop for this hop. It has an exclusive stamp set with Thin Cut dies and they are adorable! I also wanted to use the shave cream technique. I actually dreamed about this design and put it to work the next day.

With the shave cream and reinkers I created a background for the gate. I placed drops of the reinker in places so it would create the effect of ground, sky and sun. Just be careful when you stir the reinker into the foam not to mix too much or you'll loose the colors into each other. Then place your cardstock on top of the foam and gently push a bit. Peel it off the foam and use a straight edge of some kind to scrape off the foam. An old credit card works well. Let it dry while you work on the rest of you project.

I couldn't decide which paper to use from the pack so I made it two ways. I used the Thin Cut die to cut out the gate. Stamping the vine was easier than you might think. The flowers were stamped and die cut then glued to the arch.

Once the background piece was dry I glued the gate down and stamped some grass and a flower across the bottom so everything would look grounded. I added a few Dots and it was done!
