Friday means it's time for a new color challenge from the Design Team at Color My Heart Color Dare.
Use the colors in the grid below to make any paper craft you like. For this challenge you must use at least 4 of the colors. Black and White are FREE colors to use.
We reference Close To My Heart colors but you can use any brand you have as long as you can make a very close match. Kind of close doesn't count. When you're ready to join the challenge use the link in the post on our home page: Color My Heart Color Dare.
I made a card using a stamp set I just got. I love the idea of the note paper for sentiments. The flowers in this set are so pretty and can be used in so many ways. The sentiments in this set didn't fit what I needed for this card but will be used over and over for other projects.
To color the flowers and leaves I did a watercolor technique. When you squeeze the lid of our stamp pad onto the pad you get ink in the lid. You can then pick up the ink with a water brush and paint your images. Another way is to use a reinker, squeeze some ink onto a stamping block then pick up the ink that way. The two ways end up with different levels of color for your images. The lid technique is a lighter look than the reinker technique. Once painted I used the Thin Cut dies to cut out the images.

Very pretty card, like the background paper your used and the layout of your florals. I never know what to do with the note paper but great idea for a sentiment.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Michelle. I like the notecard centre with the sentiment. X
ReplyDeleteThe Rosemary designer paper is the perfect backdrop for this lovely card. Very pretty card. Love the layout.
ReplyDeleteLove how soft and subtle the flowers are using the ink painting technique - thats my favourite way to get the exact right colour but also get the watercolour look.(I'm not so great mixing my colours to get the right shades).
