Welcome to Friday and our newest Color Dare Challenge! The Inspirational Photo seen below is our guide for picking colors to use in a paper project. Use at least 3 colors seen in the photo. Black, White and Gold are Free to use. Do not add any extra colors not seen in the photo.
Make any paper craft you like. When you're ready to join the challenge use the link in the post on our home page.
I love the look of the flowers in the photo and decided to create my own version. Using our White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack I got out a card base and got busy. A piece of paper from the Wood Grain pack (link below) to create a fence look. I sanded it a bit to make it more rustic looking.
I stamped the flowers across a piece of White Daisy Cardstock making it long enough for a horizontal card. To color the flowers I used our TriBlend Markers (all blends: Coral, Lt. Green, Lavender, Lt. Yellow, Dark Red, Dull Green and the Blender) and got busy. These markers are fantastic! You get 3 shades of color in each marker making it easy to blend and get amazing looks!
Once the coloring was done I used a kraft knife to cut along the top of the flowers. Using adhesive tape along the bottom and pieces of Thin Foam Tape along the along the top I glued this to the card front. Using both kinds of tape gives a nice look that sticks to the card at the bottom and has a 3D look on the top.
Since Gold is one of the free colors I used that as my accent. Stickles for flower centers are in Golden Rod and Black Diamond. I also used Gold Glitter Paper under the sentiment and a sprinkling of Loose Gold Sequins.
HINT: When placing tiny pieces use our Pick Up Tool. It makes it so much easier to get things where you want them.
