The Bee's Knees Card ~ July Stamp of the Month

Time is flying by and now it's July 1st! Each first of the month we release a special stamp set that is our Stamp of the Month. It's only available during the moth it's featured and then it's gone! You can get the Stamp of the Month at a discount with a qualifying order. VIP Customers can get it FREE with a qualifying order! Look below for information on becoming a VIP Customer.

I haven't done this technique for a while and this bee image was the perfect image to do it again. It's called the Split Negative Technique and I taught it at our Close To My Heart Convention in 2004 or 2005. It might look complicated but once you give it a try it's not difficult.

Start with stamping the image in each color of ink. You can also emboss the image as another option. Here my Exclusive Ink colors and cardstock are Sundance and Black. Slice the image in half. The bee was easy because I could line up the middle of the body. Trim the cardstock to the same size.

Cut your mounting layers about a 1/4" larger. I then glues the mounting layers onto the card front. Next glue the image layers carefully lining up the inside seam.

After stamping the accents and sentiments I added some glitter glue to the bee and flowers.

I love the bold look of the colors and the delicate details of the bee!
