Hello! Today I have a fun way to make a "regular" card into a gift card holder. It only takes one small item for the inside of the card to hold the gift card. This card also uses a technique called Faux Embossing. Let's go!
I started with a top fold card in Secret Sea. On the right half of the card front I applies die cut images from the Perfectly Pears Bundle. Using a tone on tone theme helps create the embossed look. The die cut images are glued to the card front making the raised look of embossing.
The rest of the card front is decorated with pattern paper and an image from the bundle. To create the pear I used blending brushes to apply ink to the stamp in layers. First it was stamped in Granny Apple Green. Then the blending brush on the stamp in Old Olive was applied on top of the stamped image. Finally, I used the blending brush and Petal Pink ink to add a blush of color. The pear is popped up with Stampin' Dimensional.
For the gift card device I used a piece of cardstock 3-1/4" x 4-1/4". From the long end score at 3/4",
1-3/4", 2-1/2", 3-1/2". Fold at the score lines and overlap the tabs to create a tube and glue. Cut a slit in the side opposite the glued tabs for fit a gift card. Apply adhesive to the glued tabs side and the wide side next to it. This will adhere the tube to the bottom and back of the card when placed along the fold. When you open the card, theft card will pop up like you see in the photo.
A few more basic supplies:
Thank you for stopping by. Give this gift card idea a go. With the upcoming holidays it will be a nice way to give a gift card.
