What's Up Wednesday ~ Layout

For this What's Up Wednesday post I'm sharing a layout I made using a pattern I shared on August 27th. It's an easy pattern that uses only 3 pieces of 6" x 6" pattern paper! Click here to see the Gallery Blooms Layout.

This time I went with a Fall theme using the Gathering Together papers. The rich colors and patterns shout Fall and I love working with them.

I started by picking my 3 patterns and cut 6" x6" squares of each. Next, each piece is cut into 4" x 6" pieces. The remaining 2" x 6" pieces are cut in half to make 2" x 3" pieces.

On the left page I used the 2" x 3" pieces and a photo mat 5" x 9.5".  The pattern paper pieces go above and below the photo mat to give the impression they are one long strip.  Stamping was done before the pieces were glued down. Die cuts were tucked in around the page and a title added to the top of the photo mat. The larger photo holder can be for a 4" x6" or two smaller photos. The other piece can be for a 3" x 4" photo or journaling.  The outer edges are lightly inked in Early Espresso to define the edge a bit.

On the right page the 4" x 6" pieces of pattern paper are used. The photo mats are 4.25" x 6.25", 3.5" x 3.5" and 5" x 7.5". Once again, stamping is done before the papers and mats are glued down. Leave the top of the bottom mat open so you can tuck a photos behind. More die cuts are tucked around the page as well.

This die set is a real keeper! I know I'm going to be reaching for it again and again! It also has a coordinating stamp set to go with it!

Branching Out Dies

Beautiful Pumpkins is a great set! For this project I've only used the vine but trust me, all the other images have been well used already on other projects.

Here are the beautiful Fall papers I had to choose from. It wasn't easy to only pick 3! Some of the patterns even have gold touches!

Gathering Together DSP

Here is the Earthen toned Metallic Specialty Papers. Oh so pretty! It's not really gold or copper or bronze. It's like a blend of those colors and is beautiful!

Earthen Toned Metallic Specialty Paper

These dots are a great accent for all these Fall toned colors. It's hard to see in the photo but there is some gold veining on the dots. Very pretty!

Cajun Craze & Gold Dots

This alphabet die is so practical and useful! It has the 3 dies you see below. That's right, only 3 dies in the set. You can cut the entire alphabet at once! Or you can place paper over the letters you want to cut. The letters are 3/4" tall and are great for lots of places where you don't want or need large letters.

A few more basics used:

I hope you enjoyed seeing this layout pattern used with a different theme. I'm already planning on using it for a Christmas or Winter theme, too. Maybe both!

Thanks for stopping by! Have fun creating.
