What's Up Wednesday ~ Mosaic Card

Welcome to What's Up Wednesday where I show you a tutorial about a project I made. Today is a version of the Mosaic Card design. Click here to see a Mosaic design I shared a while ago.

I wanted to to do something to switch up the design a bit. All it took was turning the card to a vertical presentation and Wow what an impact! Sometimes it the little things that make the biggest difference!

Blue is my favorite color so the Delicate Dreams DSP pack calls my name. I knew this pattern paper would make a really pretty look.

I needed a somewhat small image for the front. Our March Product of the Month: Notes of Spring was perfect. I hadn't used the little bunny yet so here it is!

The hexagon punch seen in the photo below gave me the shapes I wanted for the mosaic pattern. I played the two DSP sheets on top of each other and punched away. Work smarter, not harder! The card base is a top fold in Night of Navy card stock.

Next was picking the spot to punch on the card base.  I also punched in white CS for the image piece. The woodland animals in this set as so easy to work with. You get an outline image and a matching solid image for "coloring". Quick and easy!

To create the mosaic I started on the lower left of the punched spot. I lined up the shapes leaving a small space for the card base to show through. After that you keep going with the pattern of the shapes and alternating papers as you like. Trim off the overhang with scissors.

Here is the finished look! Isn't it pretty? I popped up the image layer on Dimensionals. That layer is stuck to the inside of the card taking the space of the punched area.  A few Dots were added for some sparkle and a guide to draw in your eyes to the bunny. I even have some punched shapes left to decorate the envelope!

Here is the inside of the card. As you can see, the stamped layer is on the inside of the card. I added some white CS for a personal note and used a few of the shapes along the bottom.

By the way, the clipboard shown in the photos is one of our Kits!!! You get a pack of 3 clipboards and they are great for displaying photos, artwork, and taking photos of projects like I did here.

What do you think of this vertical Mosaic design? I really love how it turned out!
