Today I'm sharing our October Product of the Month: Shining Stars Dies along with our Hot Foil System. These cards are a dramatic look for Christmas cards that take it to the next level. They are easy to make but if you bought cards like this in the store they would be expensive!
The Product of the Month Program works like this: each month there is an exclusive product available for only $5 with a $75 min. purchase. Hint: stock up on paper, adhesives and other consumables and get those products you've had your eye on! This is also a good time of year to do come Christmas shopping for the crafters in your life.....including yourself! The Product of the Month is available while supplies last so if you really want it don't delay!
The black with gold foil really catch your attention don't they! The contrast is impressive yet the designs are simple. The designs are my spin on ones shared by Terri Gaines. I couldn't wait to try it out!
Each card has it's own look and yet they are "related" in two ways. Yes, the gold foil is one way and the stars is two. Wait....there are three ways. The checked star die cut from the left card is used on the right card. Be sure to save those "extra" pieces so you can use them elsewhere. You never know when they will come in handy.
The left card uses the Buffalo Check Hot Foil Die. I lOVE this die! It looks great is all kinds of color combinations. For this card I simply die cut two stars that nested each other. One from the checked layer and a smaller one from a Gold Foil Sheet. After die cutting the smaller star I dry embossed it with the Swirls of Magic Embossing Folder which added a perfect texture. I love how the smaller size star lets the back CS base show through. Also, popping up the small star on Dimensionals gives a nice depth to the design. A bow with touches of gold was added and adhered with few Mini Glue Dots. The sentiment is part of the Magical Christmas Hot Foil Die.

The card on the right used the NEW Truly Timeless DSP pattern paper that will be available starting Tuesday Nov. 3rd. I used a piece of back card stock that I embossed with the Softly Woven Folder. It is my favorite embossing folder! It left some cracks in the design that showed white. To fix this I took my black ink pad and swiped it across the CS until the white was covered. No more white peeking through.
The Buffalo Check star is popped up on Dimensionals and accented with a black bow. Use Mini glue Dots to add ribbon on your card It sticks a lot better than tape or glue. A sentiment from the Magical Christmas Hot Foil die is popped up on one end and taped to the star. This keeps it level. The stars also come from the same hot foil die.

Here is a closer look at the detail and texture on the cards. There is so much "eye candy" for y0ur eyes to take. in!
The inside of the cards use more left over pieces; the sentiment is part of those die cut for the card fronts and at the bottom is a leftover piece of the Buffalo Check.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my dramatic look with back and gold. I'll be busy making more with different looks as I get my sick of Christmas cards ready to mail.
