Love this Color Dare! Pinks and greens are part of my go-to palette! So this week the colors are a very pretty Smoothie and a nice Topiary...perfect!
This card is a sneak peak at the July Stamp of the Month: Sweet Life. These colors were just right for the apple! I used our markers and Alcohol Blending Pen to color the apple and leaves. The blossoms are colored with the Chalk Marker to make them look more white against the cardstock. I added a touch of Smoothie to the blossoms with a water pen to give it that bit of pink the real blossoms have. Some burlap ribbon and Mocha pearls finish the look. Oh...the message is from the Card Chatter: Sympathy stamp set. By the way, this stamp set is NOT just for times you need a sympathy message!

Happy Thoughts is a fun and fresh stamp set. I added the neutral color of Champagne to accent Smoothie and Topiary. The Smoothie flower head is cut out and layered on top of the stem. I also added a touch of Champagne ink with a water pen to the inside of the leaves to pull all the colors together. For the bird I wanted some Smoothie in the details. Coloring with the marker just wasn't working the way I wanted. So I colored some Smoothie on the cardstock then stamped the bird on top with Champagne and cut it out! As you can see, it created a nice soft touch to the bird details. A few Pink Glitter Gems and some Bitty Sparkles finish the look!

Happy Stamping!

Good on you, two cards with two completely different feels... Love the colouring and matting on the first card--great job pulling all the colours together. Also love how you accented just one of the flowers on the second card.
ReplyDeleteUm...is it okay that my favorite part of the card is the frayed edge of the burlap ribbon? Love that!! Thanks for joining us at Color My Heart. Your stamp choices for both cards really did work well with the Topiary and Smoothie challenge.
ReplyDeleteLovely cards, Michelle! I especially like the first one. The burlap ribbon looks great paired up with the apple image. I love how you matted the focal image with both challenge colors too! Thanks for playing along with us at Color My Heart Color Dare this week again!
