March 2014 Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop for March 2014! We have a really cute set to show off  this month called Happy Place! If you've arrived from Vicki Price's blog you're on the right track. Just keep clicking on the links at the bottom of each post to continue on the hop.

One look at this stamp set made me think about the Russian Nesting Dolls. There are a lot of ways to use this set and add color. I chose to use the puddle pad technique. Using the colors from the paper pack, Jubilee, I got out my Cranberry, Indian Corn Blue, Honey and Topiary reinkers. I layered some baby wipes to make a "pad" then dropped some ink from each color to make stripes on the pad. Next, ink up your image and stamp as usual onto your cardstock. You get an image with instant color!

For my card design I used a Tri-Fold style. It's SO easy! I started with 2 standard sized cards. The cards will nest in each other so one fold is to the left and the other fold to the right. The card on the right is cut a bit shorter and narrower than the full sized card.

To open the card you flip the top layer to the right. The image below shows what it looks like at that stage. It reveals an image "hiding" under the top flap.

Next you flip open the flap to the left to see the inside of the card. See below for that image. This is where I placed the message of the card. I layered some B&T paper here to cover where the two cards were glued together.

Here is what the entire Happy Place set looks like. Isn't it cute! Such great images and messages. Perfect for cards, scrapbooking or any paper craft! This set is only available during the month of March!
