CTMH Technique Blog Hop ~ Music to the Eyes

Hi and welcome to our technique hop for February. This month we are featuring the technique found on page 34 of the Annual Inspirations book called Music to the Eyes. The idea of this technique is to use a journaling pen to add some outlines to your images or accents. This will came them contrast with the background and they will POP!

If you've come from Wendy Kessler's blog you're on the right track!
Just keep clicking the links and to make your way around the hop.

This is the card I made for this hop. I used the Someone Special stamp set. I hadn't used the small flower image yet so that's what I concentrated on this time. I cut some circles from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge to get started. I inked the flower in Cotton Candy and used a sponge dauber to add some Thistle ink to the flower then stamped it on the white circle. I did the same technique to stamp the leaves and the message, too. Then I got out my journaling pen and added some outlines. Just a little here and there to define the flower petals, leaves and letters. Then one final outline around the outside of the circles. On the background of the card I stamped the mesh image from Distressed Background in Sweet Leaf to add some texture. It's subtle and just enough to compliments the focal images.

Here is a close up of the flowers and message so you
can see the outlining better.
