Ok I'll admit it. I am not a fan of the color brown. I know a lot of you out there love brown but I'm not one of them! BUT, once I got over the initial, "ewwww, brown", I dug in and decided this was the perfect color dare for some heritage photos! This week we are challenging you to use Colony al White with 1, several or all the Browns!
So here comes another fun Color My Heart Color Dare!
This layout is really very simple. I chose the browns that would make the photos pop and added some dry embossed layers. HINT: I learned from a friend that when dry embossing use a piece of foam as a layer and your cardstock won't crack! I used a stripe embossing folder to go with all the lines in the photos and made me think about railroad tracks. A bling and the layout was done. HINT: to make the clear sparkles go with the color dare I used a marker to change the color to a light brown!
You can join the fun by creating any kind of paper craft. If you don't have the exact colors use something close. Then you link to either our blog or Facebook page! Details on how to join are in the sidebar of the Color My Heart home page. While there be sure to check out what the other Design Team members created to inspire you!

DeleteMichelle - I love this layout, it is a great fit for your pictures! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteThe neutrals are a great background for your photos, and thanks for the hint on embossing folders...there are times that I throw them away because I don't like the core coming through, and I do have a foam plate that I should think about using.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sue. Give the foam a try, you'll like it!
DeleteWow Michelle, for someone not drawn to brown, you sure rocked this challenge! Love the hand-colored crystals too!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Peachy! It's good to stretch that box once in a while!
DeleteThis color combo really turned out nice with the railroad pictures. I like the layout a lot!
