Welcome to our mid-month Technique Hop. Every month on the 15th we feature a technique themed hop and hope to inspire you along the way. If you've hopped over from
Melissa Robinson's blog you're doing fine. Just keep clicking
on the links in each post to continue along for more great ideas.
This month we're focusing on layers made with our stamp sets and inks. I chose to use this new fish stamp and had a lot of fun making this card. I used one of the patterns from our Make It from Your Heart Volume 4 book which made it even easier to complete. The fish was created with 3 stamps from the set (see the stamp images below). The first layer is 2nd generation Lagoon ink. Next is the layer with 1st generation Lagoon ink and the top detail layer is stamped in Toffee ink. I fussy cut the fish and used Thin 3D Foam Tape to pop it up a bit then colored the fins with the Shimmer Brush. Another thing I did was color the white dots with a ShinHan marker. Also, notice how I stamped the fishing line off the top of the card...just for fun!
On the inside I used a sentiment from the stamp set but added "with you" using and alphabet set. I recommend having a smaller size alphabet set for just this purpose. It also comes in handy for making your own sentiments when needed.
