Memorial Day Inspirational Photo ~ Color Dare #344

Well here we are at Memorial Weekend already! This is a time we remember all who have fought for our country and freedom. Thank you to all for this gift.


When we use an inspirational photo for our color challenge the rules are simple....use whatever colors you see in the photo and create any paper craft you like! How's that for easy!

I created the plaid background by stamping the 3rd image shown from the top of the Charming Borders stamp set. I think it would make a great background in any color(s)! I also did a two color inking on the sentiment by inking the top half with the red and bottom with the blue before stamping. When doing something like this always ink with the lighter color first.

The balloon layer was trimmed a bit short and fussy cut around the balloons for a different perspective and fun. The dots started out white but I colored them with an alcohol marker to coordinate with the rest of the card.
