Let's have some Love of Color fun! Close To My Heart has a fantastic tool to help you pick colors for your creations. Whether you're good at picking colors or you struggle this book if for you! Each page has one color as the "star". It shows you a 3, 4 and 5 color combo to go with the star of the page! There are also samples of these combinations to show you how great they look.
For the color challenge today the colors are Willow, Clover, Pansy, Raspberry, Peach, Lilac. Black and white are free colors plus you can use neutrals like grey and brown. You much pick at least three of the colors shown in the grid below for your creation. NOTE: we reference Close To My Heart colors but you can use any brand as long as you can make a very close match. DO NOT add any brand new colors to the palette. Make any paper craft you like and don't forget to have fun! Full details are in the post on our Color My Heart Color Dare home page.
My card is based on a design by Becca Whitham. I love her work and am constantly inspired by her talent. I use our value pack of White Cards and Envelopes. you get 50 cards with envelopes for only $15.95 (US). That is a real deal! I did a little stamping and splashing in the background. That means I stamped the dots and the shiny on the rest of the card front is a shimmer I splashed by tapping the shimmer brush against my finger. I also used a die to cut the frames. I painted the flowers with reinker and a water brush. Put a drop of reinker on an acrylic block as the palette. Pick up the ink and paint it wherever you want. When it was dry I painted some shimmer on top of the flowers.
It's Your Day to Sparkle stamp set is our June Stamp of the Month. You need to hurry if you'd like to add this to your supplies because you only have until June 30th! After that it's gone, gone, gone!

Oh my goodness - I LOVE this! The offset frames are a perfect backdrop for the flowers that are the focal point of your card. Everything about this is awesome - may just have to scraplift this one :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alyson. Lift away!
DeleteSo pretty! I love the way you used the frames to draw your eye to the flower. So simple but really makes a statement.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cat.
DeleteFabulous card! I especially like the "spattered" background that makes those pretty frames and flowers jump. I must CASE this card.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melanie and go for it!
DeleteLove how you staggered your frames to have the splatters filter through from the background and using the inside frame with a small image...beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sue.
DeleteI love all the white space & then that POP! of color & shapes & sparkle. I'm with Alyson...I may have to borrow this idea!
