Welcome to our Technique Hop! Each month on the 15th we feature a technique to inspire you and help you step out of your box or just plain have fun! The blog before mine belongs to Cat Nowak. Click the link in each post to hop to the next blog. So sit back, relax and be prepared to be WOW'd!
I started by creating a soft stenciled look in the background. I used Distressed Oxide ink and a Mini Blending Tool. I wanted the stenciling to have a subtle look and love how it turned out.
Next I used Distress Oxide ink to stamp the border of leaves on the left. The Merry Borders set comes with a lovely variety of leaves for creating a nice lush border. You can use them together like I did here, use a couple together or just one. I love this set! The sentiments that come with it are holiday themed but the other images all work for any occasion!
These cards have sentiments from the Operation Smile stamp set: Every Bit of Wonderful. For each set purchased Close To My Heart donates $7 to Operation Smile. They do facial surgeries for children around the world!
- Distress Oxide Inks: Peacock Feathers, Seedless Preserves, Tattered Rose, Mowed Lawn, Peeled Paint
- Cardstock: White Daisy, Lagoon
- Mini Blending Tool
- Embellishments: Gold Thread, Gold Glitter Gems
Love your choice of color. Both cards are beautiful and yes, they look great both vertical and horizontal!
